We inform you that the Board of Directors of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia has resolved that, also for the academic year 2025/2026, all PhD students (with and without scholarship) are exempt from paying the comprehensive tuition fee.
As a result, in order to confirm enrollment for years beyond the first, students are only required to pay the fixed fees, amounting to:
1) € 180.48 for the PhD programs in "Clinical and Experimental Medicine (CEM)", "Health Innovative Products and Technologies (HIP-TECH)", "Molecular and Regenerative Medicine" and "Neurosciences", consisting of:
- €140.00 regional tax for the right to university education
- €16.00 stamp duty
- €3.67 insurance coverage
- €9.81 additional medical liability insurance
- €11.00 additional contagion risk insurance
2) € 159.67 for all other PhD programs, consisting of:
- €140.00 regional tax for the right to university education
- €16.00 stamp duty
- €3.67 insurance coverage
The payment deadline for those enrolling in the second or third year for the A.Y. 2025/2026 is September 30, 2025.
PLEASE NOTE: At the time of access, Esse3 will require the completion of a satisfaction survey before proceeding with the payment, unless it has already been completed.
Payments must be made exclusively through the PagoPA system, which allows you to pay online (by choosing your Payment Service Provider – PSP) or, alternatively, to print the payment notice and present it at banks, ATMs, SISAL, Lottomatica, and ITB outlets. Further details on payment methods are available at: https://www.unimore.it/en/education/enrolment-and-admission/paying-university-tuition-fees.
Payment options for each single installment are normally made available to PhD students by the relevant IT office within thirty days prior to each deadline. Students must independently complete the payment as described above by accessing the “Fees” section of their personal Esse3 page.
The procedures remain unchanged for those interested in applying for student benefits (accommodation, scholarship, catering service, etc.) promoted by Er.Go – Regional Authority for the Right to Higher Education. To apply, it is necessary to obtain the ISEE 2025 certificate and submit the online application within the deadlines set in the benefits call (http://www.er-go.it/). Further information regarding benefits can be requested from the Er.Go offices (https://www.er-go.it/contatti).
