The courses of study are structured in University Educational Credits (ECTS). The ECTS is a tool to measure the amount of learning work, including individual study, required of the student to acquire knowledge and skills in the training activities envisaged by the courses of study. Each ECTS normally corresponds to 25 hours of work of theor student; the average amount of academic work done in a year by a full-time student is conventionally fixed at 60 credits, equal to 1500 hours. ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits are considered equivalent to ECTS.
The credits corresponding to each training activity are acquired by the student upon passing the examor other forms of verification.
For the first and second cycle courses of study, the Italian grading system provides for a scale in thirtieths, with 18/30 as the minimum mark for passing the exam. In case of excellence, the highest grade may be added to the grade (30 and above). The final mark is a maximum of 110 points, with 66/110 as the minimum mark. In the case of excellence, thepraise can be added to the maximum. The calculation of each student's final grade takes into account the curriculum and the result of the final exam.
